Samantha's Story

Hello! It's daunting to choose a photographer, so I want to help ease you into the process by getting to know me a bit. I co-owned a thriving photography company in Ontario for 13 years called New Vintage Media, and loved the thrill of capturing real & raw moments of clients' weddings year over year with a team of seven staff I managed. It was vibrant and busy, but the opportunity came to turn the volume down on the hustle. After time, my life evolved into something quieter, simpler, and brought my daughters and I to Nova Scotia where we now reside in a cottage by a lake. I am now a school teacher living with a wood stove and a couple of pets, and I have decided to pick my camera up again for 2025. The world is becoming a little bit messy, and I feel compelled to find the beauty in it.

As a Cape Breton photographer, I feel the landscape and beauty of the region is a player in your wedding. As a Halifax photographer, I know that the stories and presence of our historical city adds to the feel of your wedding day. I believe that it is crucial to include space and place into the story of your day, as well as the people. I feel lucky and blessed to have feet that sit in both beautiful parts of our Atlantic province.

My style is candid and natural, and I believe in building a relationship with the client that is comfortable and easy. I want you to feel like you're enjoying your wedding day in a way that feels so very you... and not like you're knee-deep in a photoshoot your friends and family happen to be observing. This is about you, not me, and I want your photos to reflect that. Let's make some magic.
